The visual and audio elements which constitute Tract's framework were initially recorded whilst traversing a particular geographical location in North Wales. An analogue video journal was made on the site of a lost land legend then condensed and digitised into sixteen four frame animations through a focus on direction, flow, texture, colour and form. The editing process purposefully departed from mimicry and simulation, instead it isolated the essence of movement through surroundings. The resulting fragment traces of light and sound are evoked in the installation by the participants journey in the panorama, their movement creating new and fluid juxtapositions. The interaction extends the bounds of the physical region defined by sound and image creating an intractable environment of indefinite extent.
