On World Farm Animals Day, October 2, at Farmer John, the largest pig slaughterhouse on the West Coast, over 100 advocates showed to protest against the slaughter of pigs. Farmer John kills 6,000 pigs every day for human consumption. Courageous Ellen Lavinthal and Christina Cho were arrested and jailed for blocking the entrances for the trucks to transport the pigs who were sentenced to be killed that day.
