San Isidro de Labrador, the patron saint to farmers is celebrated on May 15 around the Spanish speaking world. Spain, Chile and the Philippines all have festivals in honor of Isidore the laborer also the patron saint of Madrid. In the tiny village of San Isidro, Ollantaytambo, Peru the saint is paraded through the streets as are the bulls that the farmers use to till their fields. After the Processions there is a feast followed by bull fights where a champion bull will show his strength and win his owner a sheep. None of the bulls are allowed to be injured as they are needed to work in the fields.
