After a long drive from London to Callandar via Leeds, by the time we had sorted the cars, we finally hit the water early evening on the river at Inverlochlarig. After negotiating a big strainer at the first bend, we were soon onto a calm Loch Doine where in the fading light we camped below the buddhist shrine. A slow start the next day saw us cross Doine and via the short river stretch enter Loch Voil with a brisk tail wind. We stopped around mid way down the loch for a drink and decided that given the time we had and the pleasant surroundings, it would make sense to camp. I went for a quick paddle in the now unloaded P15 ferrying across the windy loch to the other side before coming back for a tasty steak. A short night paddle completed the day before turning in.
