This is a short video describing The Tentative Collective's concept for the Mera Karachi Mobile Cinema. It also provides a little context of site--Karachi's street scape, and sets the stage for upcoming film submissions.

This project is going on the road on November 1, 2012. Please join us in making this project a success this winter! To support us with a small tax deductible donation click here: artspire.org/DirectoryDetail/tabid/95/id/1342/Default.aspx

This collaborative mobile cinema will set up free screenings in various parts of Karachi, using homemade cell phone films and a rickshaw powered projector. The aim of the project is to collaborate with residents of various marginalized and migrant colonies across the city to bring media literacy and organize community events. We will ask people to submit 2-5 minute clips in response to, ‘Home, what was the most fun thing you did last Sunday?’ We hope that our project will empower our participants and collaborators to produce their own media as opposed to just consuming it. - tentativecollective.tumblr.com/
