"Light Sculpture/Media Culture" is an installation of sound, light, and multi-media work of six Chicago Artists on the fifth floor of the Bridgeport Art Center. Light sculptures and video projections will illuminate the space, along with a multimedia installation by Floyd Webb, which commemorates the destruction of temples in Mali. A live feed of the performance Look At US by Ewa Bloch and Baltazar Castillo from their neighborhood in Wicker Park virtually interconnects Chicago neighborhoods. Shawn Decker participates with a sound installation. John David Mooney’s light sculpture consists of blocks, which carry beacons of light. Monika Wulfers is showing argon light sculptures, and Mieke Zuiderweg’s photographs explore images of 1950's mannequins in storefront windows shot on a Holga camera, which lets in incidental light, creates blur and incredible color.
