Steve Libert and his team of explorers have been searching for La Salle's famed ship, "Le Griffon", for over 30 years.
Seen here, team members dive near the exposed portion of the wreck, using a magnetometer to help identify buried ferrous objects. Because the ship was made from wooden fasteners, any metal objects are likely to be significant, albeit buried.
In the future, the team will explore in more detail, scientifically, the exact nature of the buried objects, hoping they can help confirm the identity of the wreck. Stay tuned!
