Documentation from the Live performance of Pampas at The Broad Stage, Santa Monica on April 29th, 2012.
This animation was created to accompany the live GRAMMY award winning performance of "Pampas" by Antonio Lysy at The Broad Stage, Santa Monica. The musical score was composed by Lalo Schifrin, who explained that "In this composition, I tried to convey the vastness of the plains between the South of the Buenos Aires province and the Patagonia which is called the Pampa. The distant horizon puts into perspective the solitude without shadows "
The challenge in this work was to create a motion piece that was intimately connected to the live performance without over powering the auditory experience for the audience. As a consequence, I took Lalo Schifrin's comments as a departing point and built the whole animation around the idea of a distant horizon, through which I tried to convey what it may feel like to be isolated in a land without shadows.
