I absolutely love to travel and when Zack & Heather inquired with me about their wedding in Roxbury, NY wedding, I could only say yes. To me, its always amazing when I have inquires for events or commercial shoots hundreds or even thousands of miles away. It gives me a chance to experience something new and I am forever grateful of those opportunities. Beyond traveling, Zack & Heather’s story is what really pulled me in and I am so glad I am able to share that with you today.

“Heather grew up just a stone’s throw from Niagara Falls, outside of Buffalo, NY. Zack is from the suburbs of Philadelphia. Their paths first crossed during their last year at Cornell, where they learned of their shared enthusiasm for the outdoors, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Their newly found love was tested by distance shortly after graduation, when Heather moved to Philadelphia and Zack to New York. Frequent travels and a Bolt Bus loyalty program got them through a year and a half. Heather took a brave leap of faith and quit her job to accept an internship with Etsy.com in New York…

Today, Heather and Zack live in Brooklyn. Heather’s bet paid off, as she now works in marketing for Etsy and has loved every crafty minute of her last two years at the company. Zack has worked at venture firm Lux Capital since graduation, where he helps find and foster emerging technology startups. You can frequently find them biking around the city’s streets, gardening on their patio, cooking, spending time with friends, or planning their next adventure.”

When we arrived in Roxbury, NY, we were shocked at how few people there were. Roxbury is honestly one of those places where you only see a car every few miles and one is almost completely in the wilderness. We were able to attend the rehearsal dinner the night before, which gave us a chance to really connect with both Zack & Heather’s incredibly talented families. From Zack’s surprise guitar performance to Heather and Zack’ s grandmother doing the Tango, we were impressed! The following day we headed to the Roxbury Barn for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony took place within a forest and it was beautiful. Zack & Heather’s vows were incredibly special (I had a really hard time choosing a small portion of it for the film because it was all so good). After the heartfelt ceremony, guests proceeded down from the forest into the barn for toasts and an incredible array of dancing (best father-son dance ever). At midnight, guests went to the hill in front of the barn for a bonfire to end the night. It was honestly an incredible experience to witness the celebration of two amazing families and I am so proud to share their film above. Enjoy!
