This September I went on a week long backpacking trip with my family in the Sierra mountains. We hiked in about 10 miles, set up camp and spent several days exploring the area. At the peak we reached 12,000 feet. As this was late in the season and we were deep in the forest we rarely saw other people.
Something about the silence and the freedom of not having an agenda (or email), lets you really relax and really reflect on your life. And of course the scenery is phenomenal. The bright blue sky, clean granite peaks and streams, bright green grassy meadows, the dark coniferous trees and rich soil. There's also something special about the California camping culture. A bit of retro flare but in a practically authentic, stick with what works sort of way. This collection is our attempt to capture that look and feeling and put it together in a way that works for Proper Cloth. See the products here: propercloth.com/bias/woods-fall-2012
