At the Tehama County Department of Education, we not only prioritize our children’s education, but their safety as well. This important video was created by Empower Tehama in collaboration with Red Bluff Police and TCDE.
Keeping your children safe is a parent’s number one priority. Teaching them basic precautions such as looking both ways before crossing a street, not playing with matches, being careful around the stove, and not talking to strangers are just a few examples. What about online safety and human trafficking? It’s hard to imagine your child, or any child, might be at risk, but it is happening all over the world including here in Tehama County. This can be a tough topic to talk about and you may feel overwhelmed as to when or how to start the conversation with a child. This informative video explains human trafficking, those at risk, exploiters, grooming, technology, signs, how to prompt the conversation, and digital resources. With the right information and resources, we can be better equipped to help protect the children in our community.
