This was made partly to try out Blender's "new" object tracker and masking capabilities. Tracking markers were painted on my friend's back, which were used for the tracking process. After it was complete, a mesh was created in the resulting point cloud, onto which the tattoo texture was projected. The resulting render was later mixed with the original plate. In between, the tracking markers were removed using the compositor.
