Introduction

I. Absurd! (vv.1-8)
Jewish unrighteousness doesn’t block God’s faithfulness to His Word

II. Adamant! (vv.9-18)
None is righteous, no, not one

“Make them bear their guilt, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out, for they have rebelled against you.” (Psalm 5:10)

III. Arrested! (vv.19-20)
Every mouth stopped… unjustified

“As God delights in his own beauty, he must necessarily delight in the creature's holiness which is a conformity to and participation of it, as truly as the brightness of a jewel, held in the sun's beams, is a participation or derivation of the sun'”
(Jonathan Edwards, Concerning the End for which God Created the World)

• If the Bible says no one is righteous… how come people can think they are?
• What does the law do? What does the knowledge of sin do?
