In March 2012 we set off to Pristina to make a 5 minute news item about the plight of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Refugees who were being deported back to Kosovo in temperatures of - 25 degrees with no-where to go.
Following an agreement in 2010, the EU has been deporting Refugees from the 1999 Kosovo conflict back to Kosovo despite the fact that Kosovo hasn't the means to support them.
We met three Refugee families who lost their identity papers whilst fleeing ethnic cleansing in 1999 thus rendering them stateless and unable to access housing, health, education or welfare services.
We felt that the experiences of these people couldn't be told in 5 minutes and put together this 13 minute film which touches on the issues that the deportees face in a country that clearly doesn't want them.
This film was self funded with donations of £150 from friends. With funding we could return and make a more comprehensive and cohesive film. We hope you'll watch out for our crowd funding initiative coming soon in January.
