Kayden Direction Presents 2nd Short Film: White Feathers (2012)
Directed by Kayden Chong, inspired by true events on bullying.
RANDY, a victim of bullying, locks himself up to escape reality. He wears a mask and develops imaginary thoughts. He starts seeing feathers. He perceives the black feathers as the bullies, and white feathers as friends and courage. Later, a chess set appears with all 16 black pieces but only has 1 white piece, an obvious disadvantage. He sees himself as that single white piece, seeing himself as hopeless in life and without friends. But more white feathers would transform into more white chess pieces and he uses them to even the odds and fights back against the black pieces.
It all began when I chanced upon a Youtube video on Kayla Marie Wright. A video done by her sister who wanted to share the story of her sister Kayla, who committed suicide in 2011 when she was 16 years old due to being bullied in school.

Not only has her story touched my heart, it touched the hearts of many others too. There are many videos, blogs and Facebook groups out there that are dedicated to her. So I knew without reservation that I must make this film, "White Feathers", to raise the awareness on the effects of bullying.
