Properly analysing your cross-country flights should accelerate improvements in your soaring efficiency. This lecture shows how you can compare and contrast track deviations, effective glide ratios, percent time at nominated block speeds, etc. Matthew demonstrates how to use the interface and interpret the output from SeeYou with his own cross-country flights as examples. A free online analysis program, Skylines (available at skylines.xcsoar.org), is also introduced.
Matthew Scutter is a junior glider pilot from Adelaide Soaring Club, who recently represented Australia at the 2011 Junior World Gliding Competition. He enjoys flying an LS4 cross-country most weekends and travelling to competitions, regattas and wave camps around Australia.
Recorded at The University of Adelaide 15/10/2012.
