So it seems that while many of our friends, family members, and neighbors believe in God, they are uncomfortable with how religion is practiced, and for many of them, the answer is, "no religious affiliation." In other words, the question is not really if we are religious or not, but if we practice GOOD or BAD religion.
This week we're continuing to explore Jesus' third way by looking at Mark 6:1-6. Jesus' filter for good religion is simple: love God, love others (connecting, fixing, reconciling). Spend some time encountering Jesus in Mark 5 and 6 and ask yourself, "Who am I affiliated with and what impact is it having?"
No matter what label we wear or affiliation we have, if our lifestyle doesn't lead to loving God and others, it's not good religion. And who wants to be affiliated with that?
