Our Anti-Technology Project. My developmental writing class meets in a computer lab, so to give students an experience of writing without computers and paper, I divided students into groups to design a writing project that would use more natural materials. After I presented a handout with the materials they could use (berries, sticks, leaves, clay, charcoal, feathers, etc), students met in groups on two different occasions to decide what they wanted to write and who would bring different materials. We met outside on a beautiful fall morning and enjoyed the sunshine as students worked on their projects. After they were through, I displayed them on a table outside our classroom.
