Over the weekend, Nouvelle Vague and The United States Paddle Tennis Association (USPTA) hosted The Nationals—the first annual Women’s and Mixed Doubles Paddle Tennis Championships on Venice Beach. With a facility that’s comprised of 11 Regulation sized courts and newly renovated within the last year, Venice is considered the “mecca” of paddle tennis, according to USPTA president Steve Gumplo. In light of the first annual championships, paddle tennis, which is often regarded as the cross between tennis and ping pong, is experiencing a newfound renaissance.
