Rebecka Fleischman was just trying to use her thanksgiving leftovers. But after that first experiment, word spread quickly about her all-natural mixes. Soon Rebecka and her husband Allen decided to give Soup ‘n More a go, converting the living room into a commercial kitchen. But they quickly outgrew the space. And that’s when they turned to REAP for help.
The Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP) is a small business development program unlike any other. REAP was started by the Center for Rural Affairs in 1990 to meet the needs of self-employed rural people. Since then, it has grown to be Nebraska’s largest supporter of microenterprise, assisting entrepreneurs often when no other lending capital is available.
