The University of Montana's graduating class of 2012 worked with the UM Foundation to raise money for a senior gift. For the first time the Farm to College Program partnered with the senior committee in "matching" them on what was raised. The gift was aimed on the new campus movement "Greening the UM". $7000 was the final amount which was spent on materials for the new solar greenhouse being built by the Lommasson Center. Dining services, the Farm to College Program, and the Program for Ecological Agricultural and society, known as the PEAS Farm, along with other volunteers, are currently building the greenhouse. The project is expected to be finished in November. All the produce grown in the green house, starting this winter, will go to Dining Services.
