Victoria Vesna – Brain Storming the 4th State of Water Bodies and Minds

Leonardo/Olats, in collaboration with IMéRA, organized in June 2012 a two day workshop on the theme "Water is in the Air" as part of the StudioLab European project.

Working with nano-scientists, Victoria Vesna came to a realization that although ubiquitous and the source of life, water is one of the least understood molecules. Exploring further the way the water molecule functions became not only the mirror for reflection but also the seed of an inspiration which led to discovery of the idea of the fourth state of water which is the research focus of Dr. Gerald Pollack. Awareness of this state of water has potential to change the way we think about this molecule of life and this inspired Vesna to organize an exhibition and symposium with this idea as the overarching metaphor that she discusses here.
