What does it take to literally inspire black youth to "higher heights?" Shaka Jamal Redmond, an Oakland-based Game Changes Project Fellow, recently found out when he produced this new micro-doc about the transformative work of Jesus El and Elandis Brooks, directors of Oakland's High Altitude, a non-profit program that teaches leadership and life skills to African American youth thru gymnastics and acro-dunking. The film premiered last week in New York at the 2012 GCP Film Forum. The youth get to perform their high-flying act during regular halftime shows for the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
So what is acro-dunking? Seeing is believing.. watch the film!
