In this lecture Geoff Rebbeck explores contemporary ideas on the emergence and use of personal learning space, and the challenges successful use make to curriculum design and student learning behaviour. The lecture concludes with consideration of how students might develop a publication on ‘the rounded-self’ in addition to the award of a degree and so develop a personal, distinguishable commercial reputation for the world, for every student.
Geoff taught at Thanet College in Health and Social Care where he developed the role of e-learning specialist. He was awarded the National STAR Award for FE teachers for Innovation category in 2009 and a BECTA Future Learning Award by BECTA the following year. He now works as an LSIS associate and for JISC in a freelance capacity and as a trainer and coach in e-learning.
