In this video, the scenes take place in a forest like environment, and later scenes in a rundown wooden shed. The scenes feature a collection of objects and materials, proceeding to burn a number of these. A wool covered figure playing a small part with in the shed scenes. What we hear is Hermitudes song HyperParadise (flume remix) the original noise of each clip being deleted. With in the video, simple close ups and pan shots are used. The editing techniques used have purposefully shortened these clips to allow it to follow on with the intensity of the music. What inspired me to create this film was my exploration of materiality and colour with in studio. This was an attempt to further develop my understanding of these elements. Approaching it with an experimental view. I began through linking the explorations of colour and materiality through one theme, the theme of dreaming and the subconscious. Through grounding these concepts I was able to form links between colour and materiality with in the film. The use of this particular song and the effects placed on each clip amplify this idea of dreaming and the uncanny footage that plays over our mind.
