Cognitive and Information Sciences of University of California, Merced, presents its 8th consecutive Mind Technology and Society (MTS) talk series, 2011-13. In this MTS presentation, University of Cornell Professor Michael Goldstein lectures on how infants are influenced by socially guided statistical learning. The title of Goldstein's talk is Emergence of complex communication from simple interactions: Lessons from songbirds and human infants. MTS talks are supported by a generous gift from Dr. Robert J.
