Robert E. Selsam, Senior Vice President, Boston Properties is a 2012 Heritage Ball honoree. In this video Mr. Selsam talks about the development of 250 West 55th Street, the new one million SF office building by Boston Properties nearing completion on 8th Avenue from 54th to 55th Streets along with his long career in city government and his current tenure with Boston Properties on the private development side.
Robert Selsam serves as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Boston Properties’ New York office. He oversees all aspects of Boston Properties’ New York activities, including development, acquisitions, leasing and building operations. He joined as a Vice President in 1984, prior to which he was Director of Planning for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of the State of New York. Mr. Selsam is a Governor of the Real Estate Board of New York and Chairman of its Transportation Committee. He serves as Secretary and Board member of the New York Building Congress and is past Chairman of the Board of the Salvadori Center. Mr. Selsam is also a trustee of Phipps House and Chairman of its Executive Committee. He received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 and a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from the Columbia University School of Architecture in 1970.
