In the 1990s, Bekonscot was featured on the title sequence of a super BBC series called "One Foot in the Past" - a magazine programme about Britain's historic buildings. In this feature, Kirsty Wark shows how the model village phenomenon took hold in Britain. Footage includes Southport Land of the Little People, Babbabcombe Model Village in Torquay and more.
We're grateful for the BBC allowing us to have this recording - thanks everyone - it's the only TV piece on model villages of Britain that we've seen.

Bekonscot is the world's oldest true model village - having been started in 1929 in Beaconsfield, England. We're still here now, having probably more fun than we should whilst at work. It's a super place to come with the family - we're only a few miles outside London and near the M25 and M40 motorways. Come over, see our model trains, castles and towns - and have a nice cup of tea.
Part of the Bekonscot Model Village Archive Collection. Please contact us on email@example.com for full details or if you have film footage that you'd like to share with us. We're a not-for-profit organisation with all monies raised being donated to local and national charities every year. If you were involved in the production of this video too and would like us to remove or credit it, please do just drop us a line - we've only put it up for education and historic purposes. Tally-ho!
