Dave and Debbie Amsler take a moment to express their appreciation for prayer and support that has helped them through their auto accident experience.
VIDEO INTRO / BACKGROUND INFO
Dave and Debbie are missionaries to Guatemala who started itineration in January for their next term. They have been traveling to raise support and prayer throughout Kentucky neighboring states.
September 9, Dave and Debbie were involved in a horrific auto accident in route to a mission’s service. It is amazing they survived. They believe God saved their lives. However, they suffered challenging injuries.
Debbie has two severely broken legs and had four operations. She cannot put weight on either leg.
Dave underwent minor facial reconstruction. He badly broke his wrist and hand that needed surgery and is waiting for one more operation. He also broke his knees that required surgery. He too cannot yet put weight on that leg.
They are undergoing physical therapy in preparation for their first steps expected to be in December. Then, it is anticipated they will have a few months more of intense physical therapy.
In spite of their injuries they fully expect to recover. Their prognosis is exceptionally good. Their goal is to be back in Guatemala in June 2013.
They credit their survival and progress of recovery as answers to prayer. They were initially told to expect two to three months of hospitalization. They were released within three weeks.
This video is a short expression of their gratitude for the kindness of churches and individuals who are supporting and praying for them.
