Hundreds of artists use colored chalk to "paint" images on the street in front of Mission St. Rafael. It is billed as the largest such festival in the U.S., and is a fund-raiser for Youth in Arts — a non-profit group that supports art education in Marin County, California schools. Our group — Beth, Charlie Simpson and Clark Tate painted "Head and Fruit Basket" by Renaissance-era artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. The picture can be viewed from one direction as a fruit basket, and the other as a face. Photos by Charlie Simpson.
