YouTube recently updated their search algorithm again and this time it's based on the number of minutes your video contributes to a viewer's overall viewing session on YouTube, both in time spent on your particular video and how you refer viewers to other videos to watch. We do our best to explain what we think this algorithm update means and how it works, although we're honestly not really sure if we understand YouTube corrently on this. How they explain it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to us, so if you have a different understanding of it, please comment below! Either way, the principles here for outranking your competition in video search and video SEO still hold true. Here's how to outrank the competition in YouTube and Google SERPS.
