This is the Hudson River becoming the Atlantic Ocean underneath the Verrazano Bridge (that connects Brooklyn with Staten Island). The ocean was rushing north at what must have been 25 mph. Just incredible, and something that your eyes just could not believe. The most amazing part, though, was that the bridge was humming from the wind. And not just a barely audible hum. You could hear it from many blocks away, and it got louder, not only as you got closer, but as the pitch increased as the wind cranked up from time to time.
