Interview with Erika Zavala, migrant farmworker
Erika has worked as a migrant farmworker at various locations across British Columbia for over a decade. In this interview, she discusses her experiences working in Canada throughout the outbreak of the pandemic, and a series of events in which her employer punished her and her partner by terminating their employment and sending them back home to Mexico in July 2020, months in advance of her planned return date. Our thanks to Radical Action for Migrants in Agriculture (RAMA) for putting us in touch with Erika and helping to advocate for and support these vulnerable essential workers.
