The Masque of the Red Death is a masquerade ball that takes place annually at The Akron Civic Theatre.
This year I thought it would be fun/different to shoot the party-goers reciting phrases from the Edgar Allan Poe story from which the evening derives its theme. Unsuspecting masqueraders were handed cards that instructed them to report to a secret location. At the secret location they were greeted with lights and camera; then given a short phrase from the story. We all had a merry wicked fine time.
