New Zealand was the Guest of Honour at the prestigious 2012 Frankfurt Book Fair which ran from the 10th - 14th of October. I was bought on board by Perceptual Engineering who were working alongside Inside Out Productions and Michael Hodgson to create the 20 minute film to play across 12 5 metre high screens as part of a large scale projection environment for guest of honour pavilion.
I was given 9 image sequences that required a touch of 'chaos' with a week to turn it around. I employed a familiar technique and got to printing, scanning, ripping, re-scanning, painting and scribbling over the sequences. Each of these sequences were projected on one of the 12 screens as part of the 20 minute film.
New Zealand broke all previous Guest of Honour attendance records with more than 90,000 people queueing to see inside the pavilion over the weekend when the fair was opened to the public. It was a crazy project but an amazing project to be involved with.
I was but one contributor to the project. Please be sure to visit: perceptual-engineering.com & iop.co.nz
