In September 2020, I followed Peter Black, as he photographed the social landscape of Wellington city. I try my best to keep up with him while he melts into the street scenery. Peter yields some fascinating insights into how he approaches this enduring and vital photographic medium practiced all over the world for more than a century.
The full conversation is available in text below. The conversation covered a broad range of topics, from photographing in the street, permission and ethics, the current social landscape, instagram, dark room chemicals, almost giving up, his transition to digital and photographing with his partner and peer in photography, Mary Macpherson.
