The 5th episode from UK filmmaking team Bloody Cuts is a dark bedtime story; a gothic tale of a girl scared to suck her thumb - lest the monstrous Suckablood should come! Written and directed by Ben Tillett and Jake Cuddihy, and Produced by series creator Ben Franklin, the film is a twist on classic moralistic tales from the likes of the Brother's Grimm, with a twist of old fashioned Hammer horror thrown in for good measure.
The Bloody Cuts filmmaking collective bring their brand of UK horror to new levels with a film shot on location in a stately home and featuring the special make-up artistry Millennium FX.
Suckablood has drawn the widest attention of any Bloody Cuts film to date, drawing praise from Film School Rejects who called it 'an absolutely fantastic horror short', and Ain't it Cool News, who referred to it as 'fan-freakin'-tastic'. The film also received favourable coverage from No Film School and /Film, amongst others, and has been named as part of the official selection for the 2012 ScreamFest Horror Film Festival.
Ben is the producer and creator of the Bloody Cuts series. As a Director of Post Production by day, Ben has worked in video production for over 7 years as both and editor and colorist. But his love for filmmaking was piqued in early 2011 when he and a few filmmaker friends (and family) found some success in one of the biggest short film competitions in the world. Using that as a launch pad for Bloody Cuts alongside fellow Producer Anthony Melton, Ben has managed to assemble a collective that's since been covered by most major filmmaking websites, received sponsorship from top industry companies such as Millennium FX, and audience figures of over 200k. The team have also recently received an international film award from FilmSkillet.com and are seeing their work played at some of the biggest festivals in the world.
