In your role it is highly likely that you meet carers. By carers we mean people who provide unpaid care to another person – they are the family, friends, partners and neighbours of the people you provide services to.
We all have a role to play in improving the health and wellbeing of carers and supporting them to have a life alongside caring. This webinar is relevant to staff working across health and social care – in dementia, mental health, autism, pharmacy, dentistry… The list is endless because it is relevant to us all.
This webinar will enable you to:
- Briefly describe carers rights under the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016
- Engage carers in conversations about their own health and wellbeing
- Signpost and support carers to access locally available services
Our presenters include:
Claire Cairns: Network Coordinator, Coalition of Carers in Scotland
Shubhanna Hussain-Ahmed: Partnership Development Officer, Coalition of Carers in Scotland
Morag Ferguson: Senior Educator, NHS Education for Scotland
