We love tubular surf films of all types but we wanted to try something a little different...
We'd been looking for an opportunity to work with photographer/film maker Richard Foster who's been a friend and long term supporter of Swami's.
Our aim was to make a film that featured no surfers, no waves, no water but still delivered the adrenalin soaked vibe of what it's like to surf.
We deliberately took things indoors, stripped away everything apart from the decks themselves and built a narrative around them: dynamics, weightlessness and rush go in to make an abstract story of two dueling surfboards.
Musician Gary Tarn composed a piece of music with a combination of tribal beats and re-verb guitar that we think is a perfect fit.
Swami's is an ever evolving collaboration of surfers, artists, designers, film makers and musicians. Thanks to everyone who was involved in this project particularly to Richard for his unique vision.
Enjoy the ride..
