After reading an online interview with Riptide and James Kates, who comes across as a full-time ledge, he explains his interpretation and prespective on bodyboarding and filmmaking. When he talks about old footage never being used and turning stale despite of its quality, it couldn’t be more true. Footage that just collects cobwebs on the inside of your hard drive is as good as none, or Tom Tate (Useless). The interview drew me to import some scraps into Final Cut, saturate the hell out of it and mix it with some easy listening.
The following 3 and a half minutes is stale scraps that would have never seen the light of day if it wasn’t for that squishy guy. Cheers Mate!
Oh and if your wondering about that last wave, Its Burleigh Point, a 3 hour session I shared with fellow good bloke Eric Roy. All to ourselves with not a soul insight in the middle of the day. Some of the longest tubes ive ever seen, something you hear about and don’t believe due to living on the Gold Coast, so there’s no point in elaborating.
