What makes a travel experience? Is seeing an attraction enough? Or is it the sounds of the crashing waves, the smell of the Italian pizzeria, the taste of French frog’s legs or the touch of an ancient Egyptian monument?
Sentido, which derives from the Portuguese word meaning ‘sense’, stemmed from a personal experience of travelling overseas for the first time. This travel experience made me think about all the people that want to travel but can’t due to circumstances such as age, disability or health. How could they experience the world?
Through film and animation, this project looks at sharing the travel experience with others by providing a concept for an iPad app that allows a speculative sensory travel experience. Through research of emerging sensory transmitting technologies, Sentido could completely transform the current forms of virtual travel.

When you hear the bells alert, put your glasses on for a 3D experience. Remove then when you've heard the bells again.
