In 2006, leaders from eight Federal agencies signed the inter-agency document Eco-Logical: An Ecosystem Approach to Developing Infrastructure Projects. Eco-Logical outlines a shared vision of how to develop infrastructure projects in ways that are more sensitive to terrestrial and aquatic habitats, promoting advanced mitigation and early consideration of critical environmental resources.
Since signing the document, the eight agencies have continued to collaborate on efforts to promote the principles embodied in the Eco-Logical document with a goal of implementing the Eco-Logical approach nationwide.
This webinar, featuring 2012 ELP Fellow Julianne Schwarzer, an Environmental Protection Specialist at the U.S. Department of Transportation Volpe Center, will provide information will tell the story of Eco-Logical approach, describe current activities of the eight agency partners and discuss how to apply the Eco-Logical approach using current case studies.
