As part of the University of Pennsylvania's Homecoming Weekend,PennDesign and Alumni House presented "Classes without Quizzes: Frank Furness and the Evolution of the Modern Library" on October 27.

A crowd of alumni gathered in the Reading Room of the Frank Furness-designed Fisher Fine Arts Library with three architectural historians and one practicing architect, all closely associated with Furness’ work. The discussion began with the ways Furness’ design for the Fine Arts Library profoundly influenced modern library design and expanded on his legacy which continues to influence 100 years after his death.
