A friend of mine tipped me off to this event going on around the world, Go Skateboarding Day. Here in Washington DC, hundreds of skaters took over the streets and skated from 14th & W NW to Freedom Plaza near the White House. They didn't get approval from the city or the police (that I know of) but they ended up getting a police escort down 14th street which was pretty cool. I rode my bike down with the pack and decided to take some quick video. It's very shaky because 1) I was on my bike and 2) I was shooting with my 70-200 which is a mighty heavy lens and hard to hold with one hand. Anyway, it gives you a sense of what the event was like - awesome. What a great day.
