Artist Doug TenNapel (creator of Earthworm Jim, Creature Tech, Ratfist and Cardboard) talks about the struggle each artist faces in balancing their personal artistic goals with the realities of life.

Filmed in Los Angeles at the LaBrea Tar Pits while Doug was taking photo reference pictures for one of his next books, Hixon Bragg. Along for the trip were Doug's wonderful children.

Also in the video: Eliza Frye (creator of Regalia), Jim Higgins (teacher at Meltdown Comics, Otis College of Art and Design and self publisher), his students Jimmy, Pam and Juan, Eliza's father Doug (painter and artist) and Doug TenNapel's wife Angie.

I want to thank all the artists who have been so generous with their time; for allowing my to come into their lives with camera in tow. This includes a thank you to Larime Taylor, who will be joining the artists already seen in this video later this month.
