There are people of faith who exclude others. There are places of faith where you and I would not be welcome. Many of us have found safety in JUC and Unitarian Universalism, yet we bring our own wounds, stories and experiences. What happens when our own stories get in the way of hearing the truth of others' lives? We sometimes take our diversities for granted. Assumptions that everyone at JUC is just like us can lead to unintentional exclusion and wounding of people in our own community. To live our covenant, we must create a place for healing, forgiveness and support for one another—honoring each path that brings us together.
