In 2002, a small team of young people traveled from The UK to spend a week in Northern Israel with young Israeli Arab students. Spending time at the Mar Elias Educational Institution, a multi-faith school and college for Arab, Jewish, Christian, Druze and Muslim students and staff, originally founded by Nobel Peace Prize nominee Father Abuna Chacour, a Palestinian Christian Priest, who has worked tirelessly for peace.
This film was made as a reaction to who and what the team discovered in their time there. Young people who laughed, cried and had hopes and dreams just like us.
The film was made with kind support and assistance from UK Charity The Elijah Trust, and also The British Council Millennium Awards Scheme.
Originally distributed on VHS tape only, this is a standard definition digital transfer. It was this film, produced and directed by Mark van Klaveren Harris, which led him to start his creative career with 612media.
