In May 2011, the first SensoryFriendly Concert happened. This idea was born out CJ Shiloh's desire for her student on the autism spectrum to have exposure to fine arts music and to have opportunities to perform. As a disability rights advocate, CJ realized that accommodations were crucial to such an event. SensoryFriendly Concerts are a concrete example of including people on the spectrum within society and social norms. Now, music therapists from around the country are being trained to facilitate SensoryFriendly Concerts.
