Following a trying morning, the skies brightened and Mary picked me up from work to head down the coast. Michael, on holiday, came along too. We parked up at Gullane, ran down through the golf course on the John Muir Way then crossed the bridge at Aberlady to follow the beach and trails along to Archerfields. We then turned inland to meet the road back into Gullane, 10 glorious miles of banter and low sun. 02/11/12
The Monkees debut single Last Train to Clarkesville was released (in 1966) hot on the heels of their Liverpool contemporaries' "Paperback Writer." It is about being called up to the draft. Perhaps a fate even worse than working in Sheffield.
