I got an email this morning from Reverend Alida Ward, Pastor of the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church. She was asking if I or anyone I knew, knew needed help at Fairfield Beach in the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. It is hard to accept help. But when I received her email, but I was overwhelmed, and we were not even able to hire anyone to help us today. There was simply no one left to hire. I reluctantly said yes, we could use some help. A group of ten or so volunteers showed up at our little beach condo community within hours. They started shoveling, carrying debris, and most of all smiling. The smiles were the best. Even though hundreds of people going through the exact same circumstances, I still felt very alone this morning. These generous parishioners helped take away that awful feeling. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
